James E. Aiken, age 60, entered into rest on October 24, 2018 following an extended and courageous battle of seven years from an anoxic brain injury.

James was born in Landstuhl, Germany to the late Charles Smith Aiken and Hildegrad Marianne Hofstetter Aiken.

James attended Butler High School. He was the Certified Operator of James Aiken Pest Control at the time of his injury

In addition to his time with family, James was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He loved to cook and entertain big crowds, gardening, maintaining his impeccable lawn, fishing, and golfing. He never met a stranger and truly loved everyone in his life.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Aiken.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Tammy McBride Aiken; two sons and a daughter in law, Caleb James and Haverly Aiken and Chad Ryan Aiken; Sisters Betty Jo Doughty and Marian L. Aiken; mother in law and father in law, Tommy and Ann McBride; brother and sister in law, Bruce and Rhonda McBride; sister in law, Shirley Aiken; seven nephews, four nieces, four great nephews, and five great nieces.

A celebration of James' life will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Platt's Funeral Home Belair Chapel. Reverend Floyd Harrison will officiate. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will Be Bruce, Hunter, Noah, Evan, and Rhett McBride, Cody Doughty, and Tanner Cruz. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob and Marianne Bishop, Bruce and June Perkins, Steve Teague, and Dennis Miller.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Platt's Belair Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Woodlawn Baptist Church Building Fund, 4943 Columbia Road, Grovetown, Georgia 30813. And in memory of James please visit someone who is ill and do a kind deed.
