Janet Susan Koger

Janet Susan Koger, born on April 30, 1956, in the beautiful city of Augusta, Georgia, passed away on January 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy richly woven into the fabric of her community and family. A devoted daughter to the late Miles Singleton Koger and Frances Fussell Koger, Janet's life was one of service, compassion, and unwavering commitment, particularly through her remarkable career at the Department of Family and Children Services.

As a steadfast advocate for children and families, Janet poured her heart and soul into her work. She understood, perhaps better than anyone, the nuances of human experience and the profound impact of kindness. Through her daily efforts, she transformed the lives of many, bringing hope to those navigating challenging circumstances. Her compassion was a guiding light, illuminating paths toward brighter futures—her own quiet yet profound impact echoing in the hearts of those she touched.

Her loving nature extended beyond her professional realm; Janet was cherished dearly by her family. Survived by her mother;  Frances Fussell Koger, her brothers, Marion M. Koger and Frank Koger, she shared countless memories, laughter, and support, building a strong bond that will endure beyond her earthly presence. Her family can take solace in the love they shared, a testament to the importance of connection that she so fiercely championed.

In honor of Janet’s remarkable life, visitation will be held on January 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Platt's Funeral Home in Evans, GA, where friends and family can gather to celebrate her spirit and share their stories. This will be followed by a graveside service at Westover Memorial Park at 2:00 PM, where she will find her eternity surrounded by the beauty of nature she so dearly appreciated.

Janet Susan Koger's journey may have come to an end, but her legacy of empathy, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
