Janie Lynn Moxley went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Sodalis Martinez, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Westover Memorial Park with Chaplain Stephen Hughes officiating.
Born in Augusta, Janie was the daughter of Ralph William Moxley and Frances Rowland Moxley Irby. After attending Richmond County schools, she worked at Georgia Power and the Augusta Chronicle, before finding her calling in real estate.
She loved the outdoors, and on most days, she could be found outside working in her beautiful yard. Gardening was therapeutic to Janie, and she found solace amongst her flowers and plants. She was also an avid baker, often sending baked goods home with visiting relatives. In her later years, she took up painting and enjoyed shopping for antiques and browsing estate sales.
In 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Two years ago, her cancer returned, and she faced her diagnosis with a fighting spirit, positive attitude and strong will.
She is survived by her brother, Ralph Michael Moxley (Jane), a sister-in-law, Gail Moxley, her nieces, Kim Redmond (Louis) and Kathy Garrity (Brendan), nephews, Tommy Jr, Chris and Dan Moxley, her great nephews, William Redmond Jr. (Laura), Michael Redmond, Evan Welch, Lance Moxley and Kaelan Garrity, a great niece, Katherine Redmond, her great great nephew, William Redmond III, and her great great nieces, Eleanor and Penelope Redmond. She is also survived by her precious yorkie, Izzy. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Tommy Rowland Moxley, Sr.
If so desired, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure at www.komen.org.
