Joe M. Geddings

Augusta, GA – Captain Joe M. Geddings, 73, beloved husband of Mrs. Becky M. Geddings, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Doctor’s Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 12, 2010 in Westover Memorial Park with Chaplin Richard Thigpen officiating. Active pallbearers will be the Martinez- Columbia Fire Dept. Honor Guard.

A native of Augusta, GA., Mr. Geddings was a retired Captain for 30 years with the Augusta Fire Dept. and a Volunteer Captain with the Martinez- Columbia Co. Fire Dept. for 5 years.

Additional survivors include his three daughters, Mary Ann Story and husband, Frank of Evans, GA., Jodie Hughes and husband, Jimmy of Evans, GA. and Sabrina Troup and husband, Scott of Graniteville, SC.; a sister, Frances Newsome and husband, Sparky of North Augusta, SC.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; devoted best friends, Jeff Connell, Skeet and Gloria Edwards.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on today, August 11, 2010 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
