John William Herring

On October 1st, 2024 John Herring, 59, of Augusta, GA entered into eternal rest after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a lifelong Augusta resident and graduate of Curtis Baptist School. John worked in IT including a tenure at T-Mobile. His personal interests included fishing, specifically trout fishing in the north Georgia mountains, and golf, with a special appreciation for the Master’s Golf Tournament. John had a fondness for cars and was the proud owner of multiple award-winning show cars. John loved to talk and connect with others and never met a stranger.

As a devout Christian, faith played a central role in his life and he found his greatest joy in sharing his faith with others. John was baptized in the Christian faith at a young age and was lifelong member of Lake Park Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Doris Jones, and stepfather Roger Hendrick. John is survived by his mother Terry Hendrick, brother Robert Hendrick, and sister Tara Hendrick.

A memorial service honoring John's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024 in the Fellowship Hall at Lake Park Baptist Church, 211 Milledge Road, Augusta, Ga. The family will recieve friends for visitation and fellowship following the service.
