John Parker Leonard

Evans, GA – John Parker Leonard, 80, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice L. Leonard, son, Dr. Robert A. Leonard and wife Julie of Evans, GA, daughter, Vivian L. Turnbull and husband Thomas of Arnold, MD, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers, Wil and Lee Leonard, and sister, Marylou Melchiore.

John was born April 12, 1930 in Los Angeles, CA. He served in the United States Air Force and was a proud veteran of the Korean War. After serving his country, John went to work for North American Aviation, presently known as Boeing. He retired after 33 years of service as a Logistics Representative to U.S. Navy at NAS JAX, FL and U.S. Marine Corps at the Marine Air Base in Jacksonville, NC for RA-5C and OV-10 aircraft. After retirement, John enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.
