Joyce Wooten Bodie

Joyce Wooten Bodie, 60, beloved wife of 39 years of Walter Horace Bodie, entered into rest on Friday, March 16, 2018 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Chaplain Bernard Mason officiating.

Mrs. Bodie worked at the Sibley Mill for 23 years and then 15 years at the Gurley’s Supermarket on Walton Way. She will be remembered as a loving wife, awesome mom, and great sister. Mrs. Bodie’s family expressed that she was an angel amongst us.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bodie is survived by her children, Jessica Bodie, and Walt Thurston Bodie; her brother, Bo Wooten (Kim); her sisters, Margaret Braddy, Linda Williamson, and Connie King; her grandson, Aaron Bell; special nephew, Curt Wooten; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, March 19, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
