Juanita A. Corgill, widow of James E. Corgill, departed this life on July 20th, 2017.

Mrs. Corgill was born in Atlanta, GA on December 17th, 1927 to Otto Alford and Kate Chapel Alford and was raised in Gadsden, AL. Mrs. Corgill had lived in Augusta for the last 51 years. She was a graduate of Gadsden High School, attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL and graduated from Auburn University after majoring in Home Economics. Mrs. Corgill was a member of the Azelea Garden Club, the Sacred Heart Guild and the Augusta Country Club. Mrs. Corgill taught in the public schools in Alabama and Georgia for eighteen years.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Seay (John) of Hartwell, GA and Diann Daniel (Ken) of Hayesville, NC, seven grandchildren, Michael D’Antignac (Louisa), Atlanta, GA, Cliff Seay (Elizabeth), Greenville, SC, Taylor Seay, Park City, Utah, Haley Daniel, Shelby Daniel, Gracie Daniel, and Tim Daniel, Hayesville, NC, two great grandchildren, Cate D’Antignac and Will D’Antignac, Atlanta, GA, one brother, Dr. Richard Alford (Bonnie), Hartselle, AL, and one brother-in-law, Gerald Corgill (Ann), Thomasville, AL. Mrs. Corgill was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Corgill, her brother, Charles Alford, brother-in-law, Johnny Corgill, Satsuma, AL, two sisters-in-law, Annette Moore, Butler, AL and Barbara Corgill, Thomasville, AL and two granddaughters, Katie Laura Seay, Hartwell, GA and Aspen Laurel Daniel, Evans, GA.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July, 22nd, 2017 at Westover Cemetery with Dr. Timothy Owings presiding. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Thankful Bible Class, First Baptist Church, Augusta, GA. Mrs. Corgill specifically wished to thank her wonderful caregivers, Diane Johnson, Monique Chambers and Penni Tolar, for their loving care and devotion.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to: Aspen’s legacy, A Children’s Ministry Foundation, P.O. Box 211790, Augusta, GA 30917-1790.
