Lee Ann Carter, beloved wife, mom, Grammy, and friend, passed away on February 1, 2022 in Evans, GA at age 58 from pancreatic cancer.
Lee Ann was born in Dallas, TX, to Howard Woods, Jr. and Janice Woods on October 4, 1963. She attended college at the University of Texas at Austin. She married her high school sweetheart, Larry Carter, on July 6, 1985 in Richardson, TX.
Her first priority was to her family. She was married for 36 years and raised three daughters. Lee Ann was involved in church throughout her life. She served as a Sunday school teacher and on various committees at First Baptist Church of Augusta for 25 years. She was passionate about traveling and visited all seven continents. She loved to read, dance, and scrapbook. Her bubbly personality was contagious. She was always laughing and smiling and made everyone she met feel special.
Lee Ann is preceded in death by her father, Howard Woods, Jr.
Lee Ann is survived by her spouse, Larry Carter; children, Kara Peters, Beth Maddox, and Dana Fowler; sister, Linda Derrick; mother, Janice Brewer; step-father, John Brewer; grandchildren, Landon Peters, Grayson Peters, and Juliette Fowler; and many nieces and nephews.
Flowers may be sent to Platt’s Funeral Home in Evans, GA. Donations in lieu of flowers may be given to Heifer International, one of Lee Ann’s favorite charities.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Platt’s Funeral Home 337 North Belair Rd, Evans, GA 30809.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Platt’s Funeral Home 337 North Belair Rd, Evans, GA 30809. The service will be officiated by Brent Garrard of In Focus Church.
