Louise Robinson Johnson

June 23, 1917 — December 27, 2010

Augusta, GA.- Mrs. Louise Robinson Johnson born June 23, 1917, to Leslie Gordon MaCabe Robinson and Sara Louise Reid, the wife of the late, Mr. William Russell Johnson, Sr., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 27, 2010, at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2 P.M. in Westover Memorial Park with her nephew, Dr. Leslie Gordon Robinson officiating.

Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Russell Johnson, Sr., and seven brothers, Lewis Gray Robinson, Ellison Reid Robinson, Leslie Gordon Robinson, Robert Adger Robinson, William Rosco Rodgers, and Jack Autry Rodgers. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Johnson Prince and husband, Abbie, and son William Russell Johnson, Jr., and wife, Janice. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Paula Prince Hughes and husband Chip, Taylor Johnson Moore and husband Justin, Marty Danielle Hutto and Jason Kirk Hutto, and two great-grandchildren, William Hudson Hughes and Brayden Dean Hughes.

Louise loved her God and her church, and for many years, she was an active member of The Hill Baptist Church of Augusta, Georgia, and of Faith Sunday School Class. She loved to travel, particularly to Daytona Beach, Florida, where she spent 57 summers. She also loved verbally sparing with political TV commentators, but most of all, she loved her family. Being the only girl among seven brothers, Louise was special. She loved and was loved by her husband, her children, and brothers. Being the lone surviving sibling, she was the matriarch of the family and maintained the family unit.

Active pallbearers will be Dr. J. Ben Deal, Billy Hester, Craig Rodgers, Scott Rodgers, Chris Taylor, Wes Beaird, and Brian Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hill Baptist Church, 2165 Kings Way, Augusta, GA. 30904 or the Georgia Baptist Children's Home, 9250 Hutcheson Ferry Rd., Palmetto, GA. 30268-2336.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
