Margorene Carlton

Retired Real Estate Associate Broker of Leesville, SC, Mrs. Margorene “Margie” Robbins
Carlton, entered into rest on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family after an
extended illness with Alzheimers. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Carlton was a native of Georgia
and lived in Augusta until 1986. She resided at Lake Murray Shores, South Carolina until her
death. Margorene was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years Roy Carlton.
She was also preceded in death by her father Thomas Morris Robbins and mother Roberta
Conner.

Mrs. Carlton was a successful real estate broker for over 31 years. She started her career in
1988 in St. Andrews, SC. and qualified for the Columbia Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club in
her first full year of sales. She was highly dedicated to providing caring, superior service to her
clients.

Margie was an angel to many people, sharing her love for the Lord and her joy of angels.
She is survived by four daughters, one son and their spouses: Debra Carlton Glover and
Steven Glover of Augusta, Ga., Melody Carlton Cox and David Cox of Martinez, Ga., Jennifer
Carlton Kirkland and Kenneth Kirkland of Simpsonville, SC., Regina Carlton Wadsworth and
Donald Wadsworth of Evans Ga., one son, Christopher Roy Carlton and spouse Amy Carlton of
Lake Murray Shores, SC ; a sister, Theresa Robbins Brooks of Harlem, GA., and 3 preceded
brothers, Thomas Robbins of Augusta, GA, Mayo Robbins of North Augusta, SC and Charles
Farr of Augusta GA.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Heather Cox Strickland, Jamie Cox, Jonathan Glover,
Laney Glover Mize, Brittany Kirkland Sass, Michael Kirkland, Brandin Wadsworth, John
Wadsworth, Conner Wadsworth, Tanner Carlton, Cameron Carlton, Whitney Brazel and
Cheyenne Cloer. She is survived by 15 great grandchildren with one of them honoring the name
of Margorene.

Active pallbearers: Steve Glover, Jonathan Glover, David Cox, Kenneth Kirkland, Michael
Kirkland, Donald Wadsworth, John Wadsworth, Brandin Wadsworth, Tanner Carlton, Timothy
Strickland and Andrew Mize.

Her Memorial Service will be officiated by Chaplain Kirk Gipson. The family will receive family
and friends at Platt's Funeral Home, on 721 Crawford Avenue, Monday January 31, 2022 from 12:00 PM until the time of service. The service will begin at 1:00 PM.
Graveside service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of MSA Hospice of
Augusta for their loving and constant care.
