Michael D. Dill

December 1, 1958 — October 26, 2023

Mr. Michael D. Dill, 64, beloved husband of Mimi Dill, entered into rest on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at his residence with family.

Lovingly known as Daryl to family and D'rail to many of his friends, and a community of Bikers he also called family. Daryl graduated from North Augusta High School in 1978, staying nearby most of his life in either Augusta or Aiken.

He was a Master Electrician and retired from TTX Railroad, being his normal self and couldn’t sit still. He  then worked for Georgia Iron Works, Lockheed Martin, as well as Lieotus, before Alzheimers settled him as fully retired. One of his first jobs was working at the original Motorcycle shop of Augusta, Vics Harley Davidson. He joined the Hog Club and this is where is legacy began.

Over the years he enjoyed this passion for Motorcycles - having owned over 40 stock and custom bikes in his lifetime. Taking his daughter and son on their first rides, accompanying his daughter to buy her first Harley and teaching her how to ride. He enjoyed riding the mountains with his wife and the motorcycle rallies with his biker family. Daryl was known as one of the “best story tellers” with his colorful language, body language and constant foot tapping. He lit up a room with these stories always making everyone smile and laugh. His infectious laughter and presence will be missed by many.

The family welcomes friends to a visitation on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road.
