Miguel Angel Diaz

Augusta, GA – Mr. Miguel Angel Diaz, 60, beloved husband of Mrs. Robin Howell Diaz entered into rest on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday evening, December 15, 2011 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Deacon Ken Maleck officiating.

Miguel served his family as the best husband, dad and grandpa that anyone could have ever asked for.
He was an alumnus of Butler High School class of 1969. He served on the Georgia Employers Board of Directors.
Miguel has been employed by Trefz & Trefz Inc. dba Arby’s Roast Beef for 41 years. A special thank you to Oren and Paul Trefz for treating him as their own brother with their constant love and support and to the many fellow employees that Miguel loved and are extremely proud of.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Diaz is survived by his son, Mickey Diaz (Jennifer); his daughter, Stephanie McNair (Steven); his grandchildren, Psymon Smith, Trey Miguel Diaz, Avery McNair, and Kayla McNair; his brother, Luis Perez (Sherry); his sisters, Rosa Lane (Jerry), Dinah Guilfoyle (Joe), and Arsinia Sumpter (Doug); his aunt and uncle, Pedro and Maria Rodriguez; his step-parents, Arturo and Carmen Jimenez; his brothers, Tony, Papo, and Eggie Jimenez; and by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Miguel Cartagena Diaz and Arsinia Rios-Diaz.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Catholics Come Home, care of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening following the service until 9:00 PM.
