M.J. Edwards

Mr. M.J. Edwards, beloved husband of the late Bernadine Quarles Edwards, entered into rest on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

He was born on January 18, 1921, to Claude and Maggie lee Edwards in Madison County, Georgia. He grew up on a farm and learned the value of hard work. He volunteered for the Navy during World War II and served for the duration of the war. In the 1950’s, he moved to Augusta and had a long career as the supervisor in the mechanical engineer department at MCG. After retirement, he took up golf and enjoyed his time at the Forest Hills Golf Club. After his wife passed away, he moved to Brandon Wilde, where he lived until his death on Thursday.

He is survived by his loving and caring companion, Mae Carpenter, and his dear friends, June Darby and Carol Reasor.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Brandon Wilde at a later date.
