Monica Bernice Wisniewski, age 63 entered into rest on Saturday, October 31, 2020.
Monica was born in Augusta to the late William Joseph Wisniewski and Bernice Williford Wisniewski. Monica was a fierce woman who never backed down from a job that was designed for a man. She drove an 18 wheeler and retired from Fort Howard Paper Company now known as GA Pacific as a forklift operator. Monica loved to crochet and to visit buffets; and she loved to shop for makeup and jewelry-she never met a clearance item she didn’t like. She proudly proclaimed there was ‘fire in her blood’ to which she most often used to protect her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Wisniewski; and sister, Joanne Wisniewski.
She is survived by her two daughters, Christy Rommal (Eric) of East Lyme, Connecticut, and Melissa Rhodes (Kenny) of Statesboro; brother, Joe Wisniewski (Tina) of Graniteville, South Carolina; sister, Robin Boyd (David) of Blythe; and several nieces and nephews. She was a protective “Mimi” to her six grandchildren, Mikaela Rommal, Briana Rhodes, KJ Rhodes, Allie Rommal, Nate Rommal, and Matthew Rhodes.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Platt’s Crawford Avenue. The family will immediately process to Westover Memorial Park for a graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah, 7215 Sallie Mood Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
