John Clifford “Pete” Cox, age 62 entered into rest on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
Pete was born in Augusta to the late John Lewis Cox and Sarah Lee Byce Cox. He was a hardworker who had worked as a carpenter for ER Snell Contractor Inc before his health began declining. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Pete was a loving husband, father, and “Pippy.”
He is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Rose M. Cox; three children, Kelli Cox of Grovetown, Adam Cox (Brandy) of Cedartown, and Chad Cox (Danielle) of North Augusta; grandchildren, Natalie Cox, Noah Cox, Kaitlyn Cox, and Jordan Bentley; brother, Carl Cox (Lisa) of Appling; sister, Linda Robertson of Appling; and mother-in-law, Peggy Reid of Grovetown.
A service will take place at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pete’s friend, Mark Graff will officiate. Entombment will follow the service.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the mausoleum chapel.
Facial coverings are required and social distancing guidelines are to be respected.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association or to the American Heart Association.
