Ray Charles Hughes

Augusta, GA – Mr. Ray Hughes, 80, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Doctor’s Hospital

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM today, October 12, 2012 in Westview Cemetery with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating.

Mr. Hughes was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Richmond County School System for 30 years. After retirement he also spent several years teaching in the Adult School Program. He served in the Army Air Force for 4 years during the Korean War.

Mr. Hughes is survived by a stepdaughter, Velma Brown (Byron); his sister, Dorothy Powell; a nephew, John Powell; and two nieces, Jackie and Karen Hughes. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
