Evans, Georgia -Rebecca Uithoven Peters passed peacefully to be with the Lord on August 21.

Funeral services will be Wed. August 26, 2015 at Warren Baptist Church at 2:00 pm, with a second service and burial in Macon, Ms. The service at Warren Baptist will be led by Dr. McKinley, assisted by Bret Legg and music by Dave Dillard. Visitation will be Tuesday August 25, 2015 from 5:00-7:00pm at Platt’s funeral home on Belair Rd.

Mrs. Peters is survived by her husband of 64 years, George Peters. In addition to her husband, she leaves the families of her three Uithoven nephews, who she dearly loved, plus a host of great and great great nieces and nephews, as well as nieces and nephews of Mr. Peters, who she loved as her own.

Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her mother, Angie Uithoven, her father, John Uithoven, sister Ruby Nell Welch, two brothers Henry Uithoven and John William Uithoven.

Pallbearers will be Lee Uithoven, Joe Uithoven, Garrett Uithoven, Luke Uithove, Duane Newman and Daren Griffin.
Honorary pallbearers include Mrs. Peters Sunday School class and Tammy Andrews.

Mrs. Peters served her church by taking care of babies in the nursery for 40 years. She and her husband also worked with children, young singles, and young married couples for many years, making their home welcome to many. Among the honors she received was the most outstanding rating given for her evaluations given at Fort Gordon. Her coworkers loved and respected her. One other honor was Homecoming Queen of her high school in Columbus, Ms.

Work experiences included Secretary of a business in Columbus, Ms, telephone operator and customer service representative for Bell South, 35 years secretary at the provost marshal’s office, Fort Gordon, and Security office, Eisenhower General Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, please make a gift to Christian Missions in Action, 1106 Johns Rd, Augusta, GA 30904, for the work being done in the Ukraine. Mrs. Peters has supported this organization since 1997. Mr. & Mrs. Peters have provided their time and monetary support to a Christian University in Odessa Ukraine.
