Rev. Paul L. Cook, 89, beloved husband of the late Dessie Dye Cook, entered into rest on November 10, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Rev. Cook retired from SRS after 41 years of service as a lab tech and safety engineer. He became a deacon in 1972 and then an ordained minister in 1996 at Broad Street Baptist Church. He also ministered to the residents of the Hal Powell Apartments for 11 years. Rev. Cook loved spending time in and around the water. He was a fisherman, skier, and boater. He also enjoyed spending time at estate sales and watching his Green Bay Packers. Rev. Cook loved his lord and savior and his family deeply.
Rev. Cook is survived by his daughter, Nicolette R. Cook; his son, Anthony P. Cook (Laura); his grandchildren, Nicholas Keith Solomon (Sarah) and Holli Anne Solomon (George Edwards); and his great-grandchildren, Cameron J. Driggers and McKinley Anne Johnson. In addition to his wife, Rev. Cook was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Maude Thompson Cook; and by his brothers, Clarence Kenneth Cook, Jr. and Aubrey Cook.
Pallbearers will be George Edwards, Cameron Driggers, Mike Love, Morgan Scott, Dennis Steedley and Ralph Kitchens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the funeral from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM.
