Rhonda Golden McKinney

Mrs. Rhonda Golden McKinney, 64, beloved wife of the late Ronald McKinney, entered into rest on Sunday, December 22, 2024. 

 A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Platts Funeral Home on Belair Road with the Rev. Jimmy Richardson officiating. 

 Rhonda was born in Augusta on August 26, 1960, to Carlton “Don” Golden and Barbara Johnson Golden. She graduated from Evans High School and then went to work with the Salvation Army. She was a faithful employee there for 39 years until her retirement. She loved animals, having many fur babies throughout the years. She also enjoyed yard sales, and could be found on weekends with her sister, Donna, looking for cute and unusual bargains. Her favorite pastime, however, was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Clifford Memorial Presbyterian Church in Grovetown.

 She is survived by her son, Ronald McKinney (Claire), her grandchildren, Watson and Kennedy McKinney, her sister, Donna Wagoner (Brad) and her brothers, Mike Golden (Marilyn), Donald Golden (Linda), and Larry Golden (Lisa), a sister-in-law, Lois Golden, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Rhonda was welcomed with opened arms into Heaven by her husband, mother and father, twin brother Ronald, sister Jeanie Stewart and several other friends and family who proceeded her in death.

 In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to send memorial donations to the Columbia County Animal Services, 1940 William Few Pkwy, Grovetown, GA 30813.
