Richard G. Hillman

Richard G. Hillman went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the age of 74. Richard was born in Warren County, GA and grew up in Augusta, GA. He graduated from Richmond Academy and attended Brewton-Parker College and Augusta College.

Richard proudly served in the US Army. He worked at SRS for 38 years. He was a member of Warren Baptist Church where he led a men’s life group. He spent much of his adult life teaching Sunday School and his retirement years sharing the gospel in jails around the CSRA. Richard loved his family and celebrated 44 years of marriage this year.

Richard is survived by his wife, Cheryl, and his children Jon Hillman (Katy), Alli Robinson (Drew), and Brad Hillman (Karen). He is “Pops” to 11 grandsons and a granddaughter on the way.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 29 at Platt’s Funeral Home on Belair Rd from 5-7pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 30 at Warren Baptist Church at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Warren Baptist Church.
