Robert "Bob" Minton

Mr. Robert “Bob” Minton of Hilton Head Island, SC, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 66 with his son on his last ride.

Bob was born to parents Russell and Iris Minton on May 11, 1957, in Dublin, GA. He grew up in Evans, GA, the youngest of six, and attended Evans High School. Bob was the owner of Bob Minton Auto Transport for 30 years and lovingly helped with his son’s businesses Champion Tree and Champion Towing. Bob had a love for dirt track racing, fishing, shrimping, and his grandchildren. Bob was the life of the party, he had a knack for making people laugh, always welcoming, and always helping others.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Rob (Tara) Minton, Russell (Beth) Minton; his grandchildren, Brice Minton, Rileigh Minton, Eli Minton, Max Minton, Elizabeth Minton, Ryan Minton, and Luke Minton; his siblings, Mary (Don) and Rusty (Diane); his nieces Mandy (Mark) and Hope (Craig). He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell & Iris Minton.

A celebration of life will be available to the public at Platt’s Funeral Home on Belair Road on June 9 between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. All are welcome. An additional scattering ceremony for Bob’s ashes will be private. Flowers can be sent to Platt’s Funeral Home.
