Robert Lee Ferguson

LeGrange, Ga. – Mr. Robert Lee Ferguson, 88, beloved husband of the late Margaret Elsie Ferguson, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Florence Hand Nursing Facility in Lagrange, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Westover Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Rodger Murchison officiating.

Mr. Ferguson worked for Eastern Airlines as an air traffic controller at Bush Field and then was chief controller of the Albany tower until his retirement. After retiring, he was an inspector with the Augusta Housing Authority. He was a member of the Mason Knights Templar Scottish Rite, where he was a former Grand Master. He was also a long standing member of First Baptist Church, where he was a founding member of the Crusader’s Sunday school class.

He is survived by a son, Charles Allen Ferguson, and his wife, Susan, three daughters, Ruth Anne Rucker and husband, John, Mary Kay Franklin and husband, George, and Martha Jean Boyd, and husband, Billy. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Chris Rucker, Wes Rucker, Beth Franklin, Kyle Franklin, Chelsea Ferguson, Chandler Ferguson, Ashton Boyd, and Tyler Boyd, as well as four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, September 26, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
