Robert Francis Spellman

Mr. Robert Francis Spellman, 74, beloved husband of 47 years of Katherine Marshall Spellman, entered into rest on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

The family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date.

Robert was born in Utica, New York. He was one of nine children born to Robert and Hazel Spellman. He joined the US Army after high school and was stationed in Korea for three years as an army medic. Once discharged, he worked a variety of managerial jobs in retail, including Spencer Gifts and Faber, before finding his calling as a Corrections Officer. He worked as a CO for 28 years before retiring.

He was a very kind and loving man and that love extended after his death. He gave the gift of life by donating his organs.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, a daughter, Sarah Spellman, his siblings, Michael Spellman (Natalie), James Spellman (Linda), Sue LaPierre (Kyle), Eve Irwin, Jackie Earley (Scott) and Ray Jay Janicke (Lisa), his sister in law, Gerry, numerous nieces and nephews and a fur bay, Molly.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Robert and Hazel, and his brothers, William and Daniel Spellman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnels To Towers Foundation, a charity that supports 9/11 families and disabled veterans. Donations may be made at t2t.org.
