Ruth Nichols

Ruth Nichols, 92, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away on January 1, 2023 in Evans, Georgia.

Ruth was born in Midland, Michigan to David and Florence Bryan on September 25,1930. She graduated school in Midland, Michigan and married Midland native, Robert Nichols, on April 22, 1950.

She was a respected businesswoman, owner of the “The Stitch Shop”, an alterations and monogram shop in Midland, Michigan for many years before retiring to Yuma, Arizona where she continued to do what she loved into her mid 80’s, creating uniquely designed jackets, sweatshirts, and casual wear to sell at the “Market.”

She was very involved in her church, Gloria de Christo Lutheran Church in Yuma, leading the ladies quilting committee, making quilts to take to Mexico for the children. In her final years, she resided in Augusta, Georgia to be near her son, Pat.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nichols and sisters, Mildred Teachworth, Leona Rabe, and Nancy Crampton.

She is survived by her son, Pat (Debbie) Nichols; her daughter, Judy (Jeff) Pratt and grandson, Jake Robinson.

Ruth will be laid to rest with her husband at Sunset Vista Funeral Home Cemetery in Yuma, Arizona. Please continue to check back as the date and time of funeral services will be announced.
