Samuel Ray Pilgrim, 50, of Evans, passed away on April 28, 2022 in Augusta, GA. Samuel was born in Everett, Washington to the late Herman Pilgrim and Isabelita Pilgrim on December 24, 1971. Samuel went to school at Augusta. He married Victoria Pilgrim on April 9, 2008 in McCormick, SC. Samuel graduated from Coastline Community College.
Samuel worked as a Sr. Work Control Planner for SRNS for 7 years. Samuel was a veteran and served in the U.S. Navy and was awarded NAVY AND MARINE CORPS COMMENDATION MEDAL, NAVY AND MARINE CORPS ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL (7), NAVY “E” BATTLE RIBBON, NAVY GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL (7), NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL, GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM SERVICE MEDAL, GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM EXPEDITIONARY MEDAL, EXPERT RIFLEMAN MEDAL, EXPERT PISTOL MEDAL, MERITORIOUS UNIT COMMENDATION, SEA SERVICE DEPLOYMENT RIBBON (4), NAVY ARTIC SERVICE RIBBON.
Samuel was involved in SRTE United Way Golf Tournament, Riverview Park League, Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of Augusta Table Tennis, First Tee of Augusta as a coach and a mentor. Samuel was recognized by the United Way of Aiken County as Unsung Hero of 2020. Samuel placed 1st in the Fall Grand Prix Champion 2019, 1st in the Riverview Park Spring 3-Man Team League Champions, placed 2nd in the Men’s Doubles 2015 Augusta Area Chinese Ping Pong Competition, placed 1st runner-up in the 3rd Kalayaan Tennis Open 2015.
Samuel Pilgrim is preceded in death by Parents Isabelita Pilgrim and Herman Pilgrim.
Samuel is survived by his wife: Victoria Pilgrim, son: Ethan Pilgrim, brother: Roger Pilgrim, sister-in-law: Brigitte Pilgrim, sister: Beth Fajota, aunts: Ruth Latta and Elizabeth Johnson, uncle: Ralph Latta, Mother-in-law: Bok Nam, sisters-in-law: Izabella Kean and Chloe Edewor, brothers-in-law: Charles Kean and Michael Edewor, nieces and nephews: Noah Fajota, Desiree Fajota, Tabitha and Charles Thompson, Dante Pilgrim, Isabelle Kean, William Kean, James Kean, Edward Kean, Sean Edewor, Liya Edewor, MJ Edewor.
Visitation will be held 12pm-2:00pm Saturday May, 21, 2022, with a service to follow at 2 PM in the chapel of Platt’s Funeral Home 337 North Belair Road, Evans, Ga. 30809. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
