Sherman Coan

AUGUSTA – Mr. Sherman O. Coan, 90, beloved husband of the late Frances Beatrice Coan, entered into rest on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Emmitt Tip Carroll and Rev. Jim Creel officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Central Christian Church at 220 Crawford Avenue.

Mr. Coan was a long time resident of Augusta, and a member of Central Christian Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Candice Widener (Byron), a sister, Irene Yancey, his grand daughters, Heather Etzel (Brian) and Faith Brodrick (Aaron), and his great grandchildren, Brandon Etzel, Haley Etzel, and Emma Brodrick.

Pallbearers will be Harold Gay, Dan Anderson, James Lamb, Edward Gilliand, Gary Judy and Frank Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hair Bible Class.
