Susan Dunham Knight

Susan Dunham Knight, 77, beloved wife of the late James P. Knight, Jr., entered into rest on May 21, 2022.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Rev. Erwin Veale officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will be private.

Mrs. Knight worked with the Richmond County Board of Education for 32 years as a media specialist. Her and her husband Jimmy founded West Augusta Little League, Inc. in 1980 with the help of great friends and supporters. With their help, they built 5 West Augusta Little League baseball fields at the end of Eisenhower Drive for the benefit and betterment of the youth in West Augusta. Mrs. Knight and her husband ran the league for 22 years, before turning the reins over to a new generation of volunteers.

Mrs. Knight is survived by her children, Daniel Pepper (Stacey), Jason R. Knight (Kristin), James P. Knight, III (Terri) and Tammy Knight; her grandchildren, Michael Knight, Leah Knight, Heather Knight, Lawson Knight, Grayson Knight and Taylor Pepper; and her great-grandchildren, Jaykob and Kayla Ellis. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her children, David Pepper and Angela Knight.
