Grovetown

Mr. Thomas Woodrow Fennell, Jr., beloved husband of Mildred Atkins Fennell, entered into rest on Monday, April 14, 2025, surrounded by his family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Thomas, lovingly known as “Paba” to his grandchildren, was born in Clearwater, South Carolina, in 1944. He lived a life overflowing with love, laughter, and faith. For 61 years, he cherished his wife, Mildred, and together they built a warm home for their daughters, Tammy and Tracie, their grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Paba’s playful humor brought joy to every family moment, his witty jokes and warm smile brightening even his final days.

A devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dearing, Georgia, Thomas found strength in his faith, serving with kindness and gratitude. After a 50-year career in the optical business, he retired as a respected professional, admired for his integrity.

In addition to his wife, Mildred, he is survived by his daughters, Tammy Daniel (Vic) and Tracie Huff (Kent), his grandchildren, Kasey Lacroix (Jordan), Kayla Littlefield (John), Sarah Ashley Ebere (John), Logan Huff (Lauren), Blair Jennings (Jared), and Christian Huff (Avery), and his great-grandchildren, Lucy, Jack, Riley, Mason, Silas, Molly, Thomas, Andrew, Ruby, and William. He is also survived by his sisters, Sondra Blaxton (Jesse) and Frances Haigwood, and sisters-in-law, Barbara Powell and Betty Figgins (Chris).

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Edith and Wilber Widener, his father, Thomas Sr. and a brother in law, Billy Joe Haigwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Children’s Ministry at 4837 Luckey’s Bridge Rd, Dearing GA 30808.
