Vic Weaver, beloved father, husband, papa, brother and uncle, passed Thursday Nov 7th of Alzheimers. He was the son of the late Wesley and Rachel Weaver. He is survived by wife Kathy, daughter Valerie McCormick, (Adam), son Brian, (Kera), and sisters Gail Morris and Sylvia Thompson, and 3 grandsons, Preston, Wesley, and Ethan. Vic was married for 42 years to the late Lynn Weaver. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends count their relationship with Vic to be a true blessing. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and he loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. He made several trips to Canada in search of the elusive trophy buck. His hunt club near Millen was a favorite retreat. He also adored spending time with his grandsons.
Vic served as a decorated military police sergeant in Vietnam and worked as a FAA air traffic controller before entering the automobile business with Taylor Toyota, where he rose to sales/finance manager. He later started his own car lot, Cars R Us, which still exists on Gordon Highway.
Vic was loved by all who met him and was never known to raise his voice or to lose his temper. Always had a smile on his face. He had a long friendship with Reverend Davis Barton who will officiate at Platt's Funeral Home on Belair Rd. where visitation is scheduled Nov. 12 from 5p.m. to 7p.m. Funeral services will be at 1p.m. on Nov. 13th. at the funeral home.
