Wilbur Lee Widener

Mr. Wilbur Lee Widener, beloved husband of the late Edith Widener, entered into rest on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Logan Huff officiating.

Wilbur was born in Augusta in 1931 to the late John and Idelia Widener. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine. After his military service, he went to work at the Graniteville Company before retiring. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Joette Fanning and Tommy Lee Haigwood.

Wilbur is survived by his three children, Frances Haigwood, Sondra Blaxton (Jesse) and Thomas W. Fennell, Jr (Mildred); four grandchildren, Tammy (Vic) Daniel, Tracie (Kent) Huff, Tina (Gary) Burch, and Frankie (Ronnie) Phillips; numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
