John Henry Sears

John Henry Sears, 56, of Evans, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023 in Augusta, Georgia.

John was born in Washington State to John Alfred and Anita Rita Sears on February 14, 1967. He graduated from Evans High School in 1985. He married Julie Elizabeth Fowler Sears in 2001.

John was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved cheering his sons on at their sporting events, watching the Georgia Bulldogs, walking his dogs, golfing, kayaking, and listening to the Dave Matthews Band. His last place of employment was at Nutrien in Augusta as a safety specialist.

John is survived by his wife Julie, his sons Wyatt and Nolan, his sister Pam Holley (Bobby), his brother Dean Sears (Shelley), his fur babies Scarlett and Annie, numerous nieces and nephews, and his best friend Scott Stewart. John is preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the CSRA Humane Society in honor of John’s love for animals.

The family of John wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the “village” of support, Dr. Limbaugh and staff, the staff of Doctor’s Hospital ER, ICU, and inpatient hospice.

Service will be held at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 at Platt’s Funeral Home 337 North Belair Road, with Justen Gray officiating, and visitation will follow.
