John Porter Adams, Iii

AUGUSTA, Ga. - John Porter Adams, III, beloved husband of Andrea Kopp Adams, entered into rest Monday, January 3, 2011.
Services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 2 p.m., at the Church of the Good Shepherd with The Very Reverend Robert D. Fain officiating.
Porter was a lifelong resident of Augusta, Georgia, and a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and the University of Georgia. He was founder and President of J. Porter Adams Construction Company and worked as a residential building contractor for 37 years. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of Georgia basketball. Porter will be fondly remembered for his unconditional love and support of his family and his unselfish service to others. He was a devoted father, husband, uncle, and grandfather.
Porter is survived by his wife; Andrea Kopp Adams of Augusta, his children; Jonathan Pryor (Mary Margaret) Adams, Christopher Andrew Adams, and his grandchildren; John Clayton and James Porter. He is also survived by his siblings; Stuart Neal Adams of Augusta, Rebecca Warren Adams of Atlanta and David Gilliland (Suzanne) Adams of Evans.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Porter Adams, Jr. (Betty Gilliland).

The family will receive friends in the church Parish House following the service.
