Ruth Maddox Partain

Ruth Maddox Partain, 89, beloved wife of 60 years of the late Robert W. Partain, Jr., entered into rest on May 3, 2023.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Platt’s Crawford Avenue from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM Saturday prior to the service.

Ruth was born in Augusta to the late Willie and Inez Maddox. She was a member of the first Co-Ed graduating class of the Academy of Richmond County. Ruth worked for more than forty years at Daniels Lincoln Mercury. She was a proud member of Hephzibah Baptist Church and of the Harrisburg “Our Gang”.

Ruth is survived by her son, Robert W. Partain, III (Lisa); daughters, Mary P. Ruppert and Lee Ann Partain; grandchildren, Emily Ruth Partain, Jamie Murfee (Tommy) and Tristan Partain (Micah); her great-grandchildren, Judah and Sarah Murfee; and by her nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill and Howard Maddox, and her sisters, Nellie Moore and Mary Fancher.
